Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Invites Akpabio, Senators to Project Commissioning in Kogi
The Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has invited Senate President Godswill Akpabio and other lawmakers to attend a project commissioning ceremony in her constituency.
The event, scheduled for Sunday in Ihima, Kogi State, will commemorate her second year in the Senate. Akpoti-Uduaghanās invitation letter was read by Akpabio during Thursdayās plenary session.
āIn marking my second-year anniversary as serving Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I wish to invite fellow Distinguished Senators to join me for projects commissioning in Kogi State,ā the letter read.
According to the letter, the gathering point for guests will be Akpoti-Uduaghanās residence at Plot 101, Jimoh Akpoti Street, Ihima, Okene, Kogi State. Lawmakers traveling by air were advised to land at the Obajana Airstrip before proceeding to Ihima by road.
After reading the letter, Akpabio congratulated his colleague in advance, saying, āCongratulations in advance.ā
The invitation is being interpreted as a major gesture of reconciliation between both senators, following their high-profile clash earlier in the year.
Recall that in February, Akpoti-Uduaghan and Akpabio had a public disagreement over seat re-allocation in the Senate, leading to her six-month suspension on March 6.
Since her reinstatement on September 24, the Kogi lawmaker has gradually re-engaged in plenary activities and interactions with Akpabio, including contributing to key legislative discussions such as the Criminal Code Act (Amendment) Bill, 2025.
Her latest invitation marks the strongest indication yet of mending ties with the Senate President.
