National Human Rights Commission seeks access to Governor Chime’s wife

The National Human Rights Commission has revealed that it is seeking access to the First Lady of Enugu state, Clara Chime over a petition allegedly written by her asking for help amid rights violations by her husband, the Governor.

Clara allegedly petitioned the Commission, stating that her husband had detained her against her will and left her incommunicado.

The NHRC’s Director of Information and Communication, Muhammed Nasir Ladan said the commission had begun investigation into the matter.

“The NHRC has commenced investigation into the complaint received from Mrs Clara Chime. It has requested Governor Chime to grant the Commission access to the complainant.”
