A randy man, Matthew (Surname withheld) who specializes in dating married women has escaped death at a local hotel in Akure, the capital of Ondo State where some suspected hired thugs descended on him and beat him to a pulp after he was caught with another man’s wife in the hotel room.
Matthew, a regular customer at the hotel located in a slum at Ijoka area of the town was said to have last Tuesday lodged in one of the rooms of the hotel with a woman believed to be a wife of the man who sent the thugs after him.
Acting on an information, the thugs invaded the hotel and started opening rooms doors one after another.
It was gathered that when the thugs eventually got to the room where Matthew and the woman were having illicit affair, they descended on him and in the process, the woman escaped from the scene half clad.
It was learn that the scenario which did not last for more then twenty minutes caused confusion within and outside the hotel as most of the customers who came to relax took to their heels.
The thugs after beating the randy man to their satisfaction left hurriedly to escape being trapped down by the police while Matthew who has been battered by the thugs also took to his heels
The battered lover who ran to his friend’s house close to the hotel told Saturday Sun that he escaped from the place to avoid being arrested by the police so that it will not worsen his case.
According to him,” I thought it was a mere threat when I started receiving threat messages from an unknown persons that I should desist from dating the woman or I risk being killed but thank God for sparing my life
“If police should arrest me, my family; I mean the children and my two wives who had been warning me to desist from adultery will have cause to add to my problem at the police station which i don’t want.
“Thank God they spared my life, I will stay with my friend here and take care of myself , I don’t know how to explain to my family and I will call home that I had travelled out of the town.”
It was further gathered that the secret romance between the randy man and the woman has been going on right under the nose of the unsuspecting husband.
It was gathered that when the husband got to know through some of his friends who had caught the woman and her ‘lover’ in the hotel severally warned his wife to stop the extra marital affairs but she was said to have denied the allegation.
Saturday Sun gathered that when it was obvious that the wife was not ready to cooperate, his friends advised him to send thugs to beat up the man and his wife at their meeting point.
When Saturday Sun traced the husband of the woman who identified himself as Kunle (Surname withheld), he denied sending the thugs that battered Matthew, adding that the issue was very shameful considering his status in his area
The embitterred man who said he leaves home 5:30am and returns 9:30pm almost every day except Sundays expressed disappointment over the ugly incident.
“I work very hard in order to ensure that this woman and her kids do not suffer at all. I go out very early in the morning and return home very late just to make sure that I am able to provide for all their needs, I’m just surprised at this, I never believed that this woman could cheat on me” Kunle said.
The furious man said he had been suspecting his wife for sometimes since she had been coming home with different gifts and complaining each time he demanded sex.
“For sometimes now, this woman (pointing at the embattled wife) would come home with different gifts and I would ask her where she got them from, she would say “Iya Tobi” gave them to me or she bought it from a contribution she had been doing. “She has been complaining about stress and heat each time I demand sex, she will just come up with an excuse and later sleep off, it never occurred to me that she had been cheating on me” kunle added.
