The Nigerian army has declared Ahmed Salkida, the Nigerian journalist known to have access to top Boko Haram commanders, wanted.

This is coming following the release of a new video of the kidnapped Chibok girls obtained exclusively by Ahmed Salkida.

Also wanted by the army are Ahmed Bolori and Aisha Wakil.

According to a statement signed by Colonel Sani K. Usman, Acting Director, Army Public Relations, the trio have been declared wanted because they are in possession of information on the conditions and the exact location of schoolgirls kidnapped by Boko Haram from Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State, in 2014.

“The trio have been declared wanted because they are in possession of information on the conditions and the exact location of schoolgirls kidnapped by Boko Haram from Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State, in 2014,” the statement read.

“We are relying on the relevant laws of the land and in particular the terrorism prevention Act 2011 (as amended), where Nigerians could be punished for failure to disclose information about terrorists or terrorist activities.

“This becomes necessary as a result of their link with the last two videos released by Boko Haram terrorists and other findings of our preliminary investigations.

“They must, therefore, come forward and tell us where the group is keeping the Chibok Girls and other abducted persons to enable us to rescue them.”

Salkida is currently on self-imposed exile.
