The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) says there is no truth behind reports that four Super Eagles players have contracted COVID-19 in camp.

In a tweet on Thursday, the NFF said the players were all COVID-19 free in their Austria camp ahead of Friday’s friendly match with Algeria.

The federation urged Nigerians to dismiss the reports in their entirety as there was no iota of truth in them.

According to the tweet, the results of COVID-19 tests conducted on the players are still being awaited.

“Please discountenance any reports that some of our players tested positive to COVID 19 ahead of tomorrow’s friendly game against Algeria. It is a blatant falsehood.

“The writer of the story, who was not part of the press conference earlier today (Thursday), totally misrepresented what coach Rohr said that since the outbreak of the pandemic, that four of our players had tested positive to COVID-19 but were all now fully recovered from the virus and back in action.

“The results of the COVID 19 tests carried out on the Super Eagles ahead of tomorrow’s game are still being awaited,” the tweet read.

The Super Eagles will face Tunisia on Tuesday after the Algeria clash tomorrow.
