The terrorists entered the village and started shooting sporadically allegedly killing seven soldiers in the process.

They then proceeded to the military base in the village where soldiers have engaged them in a gun battle for the last two hours.

They went straight to the military base and for about an hour now, they have been in a gunfight with the troops,” a village source said.

The source said further that villagers are scampering for safety as troops of the 29 Battalion task force moved into the village to engage the Boko haram Terrorists.

This is the first major attack by Boko Haram since a sustained Nigerian Army offensive started routing the terrorists from their strongholds.
