The Nigeria Customs service has announced its plan to begin a recruitment exercise on Wednesday, April 17. The exercise will be aiming to employ 3,200 Nigerians to fill different vacancies that are now available within the service.

The need to recruit more personnel arose as a result of the restructuring being put in place by the current Comptroller-General of Customs. The reforms which began in 2015 has brought a number of developments to the service.

While addressing newsmen at its headquarters on Tuesday, the Human Resources officer for the service, Umar Sanusi, stated that the reforms had now moved to the point where his department would need to bring new officers on board.

Umar explained that the Federal Executive Council had approved the plan. He then re-assured those present that all qualified candidates would be employed irrespective of their religion, tribe or state of origin/residence.
