Senate President, Bukola Saraki has said that Nigeria needs the international community to help grow and reposition its economy.

In a statement by Saraki’s media office, Saraki made this call at separate bilateral meetings with German and French delegates during the just concluded 4th UN International Conference for Heads of Parliaments in New York.

He led members of the senate including the chairman of the Senate Ad hoc Committee on Media and Publicity, Senator Dino Melaye and Senator Andy Uba (Anambra South).

The statement read “Nigeria needs the support of the International Community to grow and reposition the economy made worse by the dwindling price of oil at the international market.

“In his second meeting with Laurence Dumont, the Socialist Deputy of Calvados, and the Vice-President of the National Assembly of France, Saraki reiterated the need for international support and enabling laws to help Nigeria repatriate illicit funds that were moved out of Nigeria through corrupt practices.”

Saraki noted that the present administration is deeply concerned about the dwindling Oil revenue and any support to help boost the economy will be welcomed.

Saraki added that Nigeria and France can partner in the area of generation and transmission of power so as to create jobs for unemployed youths.
