Nigeria Police Officers Assault Woman While Enforcing lockdown (Video)

Nigerian police officers were seen assaulting a woman in a viral video making the rounds on social media. In the video, two policemen in camouflage were seen severely assaulting a woman who stood her ground while being beaten with a rod.

It took the intervention of some passers by before the police officers stopped assaulting the woman.

It was gathered that the assault took place in Iwo, Osun State where the state government has ordered a total lockdown in order to contain the spread of Coronavirus in the state.

The woman in the video identified as Tola Azeez confirmed in a tweet that she was indeed assaulted by men of the Nigeria police earlier on Saturday.

She stated that she was going to buy supplies and food for people in her area when she was assaulted.

She identified one of the police officers who assaulted her as Sergeant Ikuesan attached to the Iwo police Command.

The video has sparked outrage on social media as Nigerians have called on Police authorities to investigate the incident and bring the erring officers to book.
