Nigeria Slumps To 59th In Latest FIFA Rankings

Nigeria has slumped seven places to occupy the 59th place in the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola World Rankings for October released on Thursday.

Before this latest slide, the country was on the 52nd place in September after moving up a step from the 53rd place it occupied for July and August.

The country also moved down two places on the the ladder in the African confederacy, now occupying the 12th place from 10th a month ago.

Belgium displaced South American giants Argentina, who moved to 3rd place, to occupy the 1st position for the first time in its history, with Germany keeping their 2nd spot.

Cote d’Ivoire leads the pack in Africa and occupies the 22nd spot in the world.

Algeria are 26th in the world and 2nd in Africa, with Ghana (30th in the world) occupying the 3rd spot in Africa.
