The President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Reverend Samson Ayokunle, has declared that Nigeria will not have peace until the issue of violence and killings in the Southern Kaduna region of the country has been properly addressed and resolved.

The CAN President made this known while speaking during a visit to the people of Kafanchan in Southern Kaduna on Thursday.

The cleric noted that the country will know no peace until a stop is put to the violence rocking the Southern Kaduna region which has claimed over 500 lives.

Ayokunle who called on the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration to find a lasting solution to the violence which started months ago in the region said: “Until the people of Southern Kaduna have their peace, Nigeria will not have peace. It is the duty of the government to ensure that area and other parts of the country struggling with herdsman are brought under control.”

He added: “So, peace in Southern Kaduna is a task that must be accomplished. They must not be deceived. Those troubling Southern Kaduna must be brought to book and prosecuted. Their gun must be taken away and their sources of weapon prosecuted.”

Recall that the Chocolate City boss, Audu Maikori was arrested by men of the Nigerian Department of States Security, DSS, in connection with his tweets on the Souther Kaduna violence believed to have incited more of the violence in the area.
