Nigerian Army successfully raids Zamfara forest

Army Troops of Brigade 1, 1 Division Nigerian army under the Operation Sharan Daji have successfully raided a dreaded forest in Zamfara state where armed bandits had made their dens.

This raid took place in the Kahiru forest, Bakura local government area of Zamfara on Monday, September 25, 2017.

In a statement made by the spokesperson of the army, Brigadier-General Sani Kukasheka Usman, he said;

“On approaching the camp, the suspected bandits opened fire on the troops and attempted to escape.”

“The troops returned fire, killing one of the armed bandits and recovered 50 cows, 82 goats and 25 sheep abandoned by the armed bandits.”

Earlier, troops of 1 Division of the Nigerian army and operatives of the Department of State Service (DSS) on Sunday, September 24, arrested two suspected illegal arms dealers along Funtua-Gusau road in Zamfara state.

This was contained in a statement issued by Brigadier General Sani Kukasheka Usman who is the director of army public relations on Monday, September 25.
