Nigerian Army Troops Kill Two Suspected Bandits, Recover Weapons in Plateau Raid

Troops of the 3 Division of the Nigerian Army, operating under Operation SAFE HAVEN, have killed two suspected armed bandits and recovered weapons, cash, and other items during a raid in Qua’an Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The raid, which took place on Monday, targeted a criminal hideout around Teng Mountain/Forest following credible intelligence reports. Military sources told Zagazola Makama that the troops engaged the suspects in a fierce gun battle and overpowered them with superior firepower, resulting in the deaths of two individuals.
Recovered from the scene were an AK-47 rifle, a locally fabricated rifle capable of firing 7.62mm (Special) rounds, one AK-47 magazine, and seven rounds of ammunition. Also seized were four mobile phones, two motorcycles, and a sum of N157,900 believed to be proceeds of criminal activity.
The Nigerian Army confirmed that the recovered weapons are now in military custody, while the mobile phones are undergoing forensic analysis to help track down other fleeing gang members.
Operation SAFE HAVEN reiterated its commitment to ongoing offensive operations aimed at eliminating banditry and restoring lasting peace across its areas of responsibility.
