Nigerian Cinemas make plans to reopen, announce coronavirus safety measures

Fun seekers have their hopes high as Cinemas may be opening their doors to Nigerian film lovers sooner than expected.

CEAN (Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria) has over the past week announced daily safety strategies indicating that the re-opening of cinemas nationwide may soon commence.

On April 30, the exhibitors association made an announcement to reassure cinema goers of plans to resume operations, via popular social media platform, Instagram. Its first since the government announced a compulsory shut down of public gatherings including cinemas in coronavirus affected states.

So far, CEAN has introduced 11 coronavirus safety measures including controlled screening room admissions, setting up of NCDC helplines, reduction of sitting capacity by 50 percent, use of masks and temperature testing among others.

Nigeria Cinemas have gained immense traction over the past decade attracting  several thousands of movie lovers nationwide.
