Renowned Nigerian gospel singer and ordained pastor, Bolaji Olarewaju, widely known as Big Bolaji or Big B, has passed away. He died on Saturday, April 19, 2025, after a brief illness, according to an official statement released by his family.
“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bolaji Olarewaju, affectionately known as ‘Big B,’” the statement read. “A cherished father, husband, brother, and an esteemed figure in the church and music community, Bolaji left us on Easter Saturday after a short illness.”
The family added that funeral arrangements will be communicated in due course.

Big Bolaji recently marked his 50th birthday and remained active in ministry and media up until his passing. He began his music career with the gospel group J’apha and later became a respected solo artist and radio talk show host. He also served as an ordained pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
