Nigerian Graduates of Institutions of Higher Learning in Belarus Republic elect Exco members

The maiden Executive Committee (Exco) to pilot the affairs of Belarusniki, non-political, non-religious association of graduates from Institutions of Higher Learning in the Republic of Belarus, was elected on Saturday night in Abuja.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the election was part of the activities that marked the maiden and ground breaking reunion of members of the association resident in Nigeria and in the Diaspora.

The election, which preceded the adoption of the constitution of Belarusniki, was free, fair and transparent.

Alhaji Muktar Usman was elected President of the association, while Mr Thomas Modey was elected his Vice.

The post of General Secretary was won by Dr Anitie Umana, while Mr Wale Ciroma Arogundade was elected Assistant General Secretary.

Prof. Dongs Iliya was elected Financial Secretary, while Dr (Mrs) Maureen Chukwura was unanimously elected Treasurer.

Nasidi Sabo-Barkinzuwo was elected Auditor of the association, while Mr Archibong Asuquo was elected Public Relations/Welfare Officer.

Members of the association also selected four members of Board of Trustees. They are: Dr Felix Odiah, Prof. Alhassan Muktar Hanif, Mr Bolaji Balogun and Dr Godwin Nsude.
