Nigerian man with 1.5kg cocaine arrested in South Africa

A Nigerian Man has been picked up on Monday by men of the EMPD Tracing Unit in Boksburg North, South Africa for possessing a large amount of illegal substance, cocaine.

Reporting the arrest, The EMPD spokesman, Lieut-Col Wilfred Kgasago, said the Nigerian man was nabbed with 1.5kg of the hard drug which is estimated to be valued at around R2 million on the street. He added that R8,000 cash was also found on the arrested Nigerian man.

“Acting on intelligence received from members of South African Police Service, the metro police pounced on a house at the corner of 2nd Street and 13th Avenue in Boksburg. Alone 29-year-old man was found in an outside room where he is tenant” the EMPD spokesman explained.

He further added that on searching the premises, a bag was found on the bed in the room in which eight other bags filled with cocaine were found and seventeen others filled with drug cat.

“The combined mass of the drugs amounted to 1.5kgs,” he quipped.

The a resisted Nigerian man has since been charged with dealing in illicit substances at Boksburg North police station.

He is expected to appear before the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court soon.
