Nigerian man commits suicide over rejected residency permit in Italy

Another Nigerian has reportedly committed suicide in Genoa, Italy. Prince Jerry, as he was popularly called is said to have carried out the act because Italian authorities refused to give him a residence permit after he applied on the grounds of being a humanitarian.  Sadly, Jerry could not get over the sadness it brought on him, prompting him to jump under a moving rain in Tortona part of Genoa.

News of his death was shared on chat group by Monsignor Giacomo Martino who happens to be the leader of a migrants association in the city. Giacomo is well known for assisting migrants to settle down.

The news soon spread to social media and was officially published on local news media on Thursday.

Jerry’s burial has been slated for Friday morning in the city. His friends have ceaselessly mourned him on Facebook.
