Aminat McClure, the mother of the viral sensations that are the McClure twins has revealed a shocking piece of information: her current husband isn’t the girls’ real father.

The McClure twins’ mother, Aminat, a Nigerian woman, made this known in a video in which she confronted her husband, Justin’s, past.

The father of the twins came under fire after it was revealed that he had tweeted some racist things back in 2012 and was facing a tonne of backlash over it.

Aminat in the video explained that she was also shocked by the tweets and that it was the first time she herself had come by them, but that she was married in 2012 but left while pregnant with the twins as the marriage was an abusive one.

She said: “Justin adopted the girls, he is their dad, he is the only dad they have ever known, and he will be the only dad they have ever known.”

Justin also confirmed this, sharing a photo on Instagram of the day the adoption was made final. He captioned it: “In July of 2016, I officially adopted Ava and Alexis. This was before our social media boom…just a family who fell in love ❤️ .

“I was ALWAYS meant to be their Dad – just had to find my way and then we found each other. ”

Also Justin responded to the racial controversy in a video in which he explained that his progression as a man had been well documented and that he was sorry for the man he was and was much happier for the man he is now.

The McClure twins are a huge brand in their own right with over 1.2 million followers on Instagram and over a million subscribers on their YouTube channel.

They have paid posts on their Instagram page with the likes of Nickelodeon, Crest and so on. They also welcomed a new member to the family almost a year ago, a baby boy called Jersey Tayo McClure.
