Nigerian prostitutes and their traffickers have been accused of causing chaos in the Spanish resort town of Magaluf by attacking and robbing unsuspecting tourists.
According to reports, the prostitutes, mainly from Nigeria and Senegal, offer free oral sex to the men in bars and restaurants and under this guise lead them to secluded areas where other prostitutes or members of the trafficking gangs are ready to rob them.
The prostitutes are said to be armed with knives and other dangerous objects.
The New York Post reported that the Nigerian prostitutes were mostly originally trafficked to Barcelona or Valencia but could not stay there due to lack of original papers.
Helped by the trafficking gangs, they then migrated to Magaluf, where there is a steady of European tourists due to cheap booze and abundant night-life.
A victim from Belarus, Alexander Khviadkhevya, said, “I was walking with my friend and these girls surrounded us and offered us oral sex.
“I turned them down but this girl then put her hand into my pocket and took my wallet. I managed to get the wallet back but the money was gone.”
The practice, Daily Mail reported, has led tourists and natives to organise protests against the constant attacks.
Tourists and locals numbering about 100 reportedly staged protests calling on authorities to address the danger posed to them by the prostitutes and the gangs.
