Nigerian soldier stabs colleague to death after using ‘cocaine’

A soldier attached to the 3 Division of the Nigerian Army in Jos, Plateau State, identified simply as Private Emmanuel has been arrested for stabbing a colleague identified simply as David to death.

The duo reportedly got into an altercation at the Division’s Mammy Market located at the Maxwell Khobe Cantonment on Tuesday, during which Emmanuel allegedly brought out a knife and stabbed David.

Before the altercation, Emmanuel was suspected to have sniffed a white powder believed to be cocaine.

After David, a gunner for the 303 artillery, was stabbed, he was immediately rushed to the hospital and died shortly after getting there.

The Punch quoted the Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, Col . Kayode Ogunsanya, of the 3 division, as confirming the incident, adding that the military police were already investigating the matter.
