Nigerians In South Africa Under Attack

Nigerians living in South African have cried out following the re-emergence of another Xenophobic attack on Nigerians by nationals.

South Africans on Saturday were reported to have attacked Nigerians and their businesses.

The attack which led to looting of properties belonging to Nigerians living in Pretoria West was reported to have started at about 4:00am on Saturday morning.

Speaking on the re-ignited Xenophobic war, the President of the Nigeria Union in South African, Ikechukwu Anyene said that a total of five buildings housing some Nigerian businesses were torched.

He further revealed that one of the affected building was a mechanic garage which had in it 28 cars and other important documents.

Further speaking on the attack, a Nigerian clergy man, Prophet Sangojimni who was physically assaulted disclosed that his house was set ablaze which resulted in the loss of his passport, his wife’s son’s passports along with other vital documents.

The attack was however reported to be due to the anger amongst South Africans who accused Nigerians of promoting drug trafficking and prostitution.
