Nigerians mourn as top coach dies, buried hours later

Assistant coach of Nigerian Professional Football League side (NPFL) Plateau United, Audu Isa Pele is dead.

The Herald gathered that Isa died on Wednesday afternoon, February 12, after brief illness.

This tragic news has now thrown Nigerian football fraternities into deep mourning considering how young and energetic the coach was before he died.

It was learnt that the coach last week complained of headache before been rushed to the hospital where the medical personnel on ground admitted him.

And after been treated at the Jos Teaching Hospital, Audu Isa was discharged on Monday, February 10, in which his team and family were happy.

In a related development, The Herald reported that Nigerian Highlife Musician, Sir Victor Olaiya is dead.

The highlife musician died at the ripe age of 89. This was contained in a statement issued by his record label, Evergreen Music Company who confirmed his death.

Bimbo Esho who is currently the Managing Director of the label said: “The entire music world wish to announce the death of a Legend of Highlife music, One of  the last man standing, the last of the original Dr Victor Abimbola Olaiya OON..

“We pray that the soul of the Doyen of highlife music find repose with his creator while wishing the family and entire music community the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss.”

The Octogenarian performed a remix of his song “Baby Jowo” featurnig 2face Idibia in 2013.
