The operators of the Lekki Toll Gate, Lekki Concession Company (LCC), today shocked many Nigerians when it stated that surveillance cameras installed stopped working on the day soldiers allegedly shot #EndSARS protesters at the toll gate.

Managing Director of LCC, Abayomi Omomuwa, made the submission on Tuesday while appearing before the Lagos State Judicial Panel of Inquiry on the Incident.

Omomuwa tendered video footage he said “our surveillance camera was able to record for the 20th of October”, noting that the camera stopped working at 8pm.

Explaining why the camera stopped working, the LCC boss said, “The major cause is because of network.

“I can confirm categorically we never, ever, tampered with the surveillance camera. That is why we can get the footage.

“It remained there until about 8pm when it was tampered with and we couldn’t get anything.”
