Nigerians have taken to social media to condemn the travel ban placed on former Chief Judge of Enugu State, Justice Innocent Umezulike.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, confirmed in a Saturday statement that 50 persons facing corruption charges were banned from travelling aboard or disposing off assets linked to corruption.

He added that the ban was derived from the Executive Order No. 6 recently signed by President Muhammadu Buhari.

According to an unconfirmed list published by The Nation, Umezulike was number 30 on the list that also included Director General of the Atiku 2019 Campaign Organisation, Otunba Gbenga Daniels.

However, the judge died in July, before Buhari signed the order, and was buried in September.
