Senator representing Ogun East senatorial district, Buruji Kashamu has said that Nigerians should support President Muhammadu Buhari’s anti-corruption war because that is the only way true change can occur in the country.

Kashamu made this statement at Ijebu Igbo, Ijebu North local government area of Ogun State during a victory reception organized for him after his victory at the appellate court.

He said “If we really want the government to have the money in order for them to be able to put in place infrastructure, to develop the country, the only way is to clear all the problems of corruption. And if they are to do that there is no way the president would not step on toes of many people.

“And who are the people? They are the people who believe that what belong to all of us must be their own.

“President Buhari is not a president of APC. He is the president of PDP, President of the masses and president of the whole Nigeria.

“So, if we Nigerians want change and progress, we must be patient, we must have courage, we must do whatever we can do to support this government .

“But, I can tell the masses today that since we started having presidents, it is now we have president because, the truth of the matter is that six months are very short to know what any president can do.

“What is causing problem is those who do not understand, who are corrupt and want this corruption to continue. But, you tell me any government which wants to restructure the country, who wants to lay the foundation whereby all the masses would be happy that will not start from corruption.

“The ministers that he appointed have been warned that what is happening to the former ministers would happen to you if you fumble with me. That is why you see the kind of qualities of ministers that he has chosen. Today, I can say Nigerians have started gaining now, the TSA only has cleared 30 per cent of corruption.”
