NiMet predicts cloudy, rainy weather for Wednesday

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), has predicted cloudy weather conditions with chances of isolated thunderstorms over Jalingo, Ibi and Lafia axis on Wednesday morning.

This is contained in the Weather Outlook issued by NiMet’s Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Tuesday.

NiMet predicted prospects of localised thunderstorms over Abuja, Jos ,Bauchi ,Gombe and Taraba in the afternoon and evening with day time temperatures of 25 degree Celsius to 31 degree Celsius.

It said that the Northern states would experience cloudy morning with possibility of localised thunderstorms over sokoto, Nguru, Maiduguri, Kano and Potiskum in the evening and night.

The agency said that day time temperature in the Northern states would be 30 degree Celsius to 32 degrees Celsius.

According to NiMet, there will be increased atmospheric instability leading to build up of weather systems over the country which will enhance rainfall activities within the next 24hours.

NiMet predicted that there would be increased cloudiness over the areas in the morning.

It said that there would be chances of localised rains over cities like Lagos, Port-Harcourt, Eket, Calabar, Enugu, Awka Ibadan, ijebu- ode and Akure in the afternoon and evening with day time temperatures of 27degree Celsius to 30 degrees Celsius.
