NiMet predicts thundery, cloudy, rainy weather

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) says isolated thunderstorms are anticipated around the high grounds of central states of JPlateau, Bauchi, Gombe and Taraba as well as Abuja on Wednesday morning.

The Weather Outlook issued by NiMet’s Central Forecast Office (CFO) on Tuesday in Abuja also predicted chances of evening/night thunderstorms over the northern part of Abuja, Minna, Kaduna, Plateau and Mambilla with day time temperatures of 29 degrees to 35 degree Celsius.

The agency predicted that there would be prospects of morning rainfall over the entire coastal cities which would likely affect places like Lagos, Port-Harcourt and Calabar.

It also predicted that inland cities of Akure, Osogbo, Enugu and Awka would experience isolated thunderstorm in the afternoon and evening hours with day time temperatures of 30 degrees to 33 degrees Celsius.

NiMet predicted that the northern cities of Sokoto, Nguru, Maiduguri, Kano and Potiskum iwould also experience cloudy conditions in the morning.

It added that there would be chances of isolated thunderstorms around Kano, Katsina, Sokoto and Yelwa axis later in the day with day time temperatures of 34 degrees to 40 degrees Celsius. (NAN)
