The Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) Wednesday called on the Federal Government to release their leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, for medical treatment.

According to the group, their leader has not committed any criminal offence to warrant denial of medical attention.

The group made the call in a statement signed by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Comrade Emma Powerful, and made available to newsmen on Wednesday.

According to Powerful, every attempt by Kanu’s personal physicians to gain access to him has been rebuffed by the DSS, thereby worsening his health condition.

He then warned against any harm befallen their leader Kanu, as the consequences can only be better imagined.

Recall that Nnamdi Kanu, since his arrest by the Federal Government, has been under detention at the Department of State Services (DSS) awaiting his arraignment.
