I Am Not Defecting to APC – Akwa-Ibom State Governor

Gov. Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom, has promised to complete all ongoing projects embarked upon by his administration.

Emmanuel disclosed this during his campaign in Uruan Local Government Area (LGA) of the state on Tuesday.

He said the council would soon become one of the oil producing areas in the country, adding that he believed in the politics of development.

The governor said his administration had established a greenhouse agriculture farm for the cultivation of some special crops.

Emmanuel said in spite of criticisms over his plan to establish a cattle ranch, the project would take off as soon as the cattle had been able to reproduce in their natural habitat.

According to him, the cattle have the ability to produce enough dairy products to meet the demands of the country.

“We are under politics of development. Every project that is ongoing in Uruan will be completed and inaugurated, during my campaign in 2015, I said we will change Uruan status.

“We are almost signing the signature for Uruan to be one of the oil producing local government areas in the country. That is why you see a new oil rig in the area.

“We have renovated the Ituk Mbang hospital that was almost collapsing.

“The first ever ranch we will build is in Adia Adia and the the first set of cattle that we are going to bring will be new breed.

“We have set up everything ready for the economy,” Emmanuel said.

Mr Peter Atakpo, the political leader of the area, while addressing the people, thanked the governor for being the first governor to fulfil a promise to develop the area.

The Chairman of the LGA, Mr Henry Udofia, said the governor had brought political liberation to the people of the area. (NAN)
