Northern Governors Meet With Security Chiefs, IGP Over Insecurity

Northern Governors met with security chiefs as well as the Inspector General of Police on Monday over the rising state of insecurity in the region.

According to the Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle the delegation of security chiefs was led by the National Security Adviser, Major General Babagana Monguno (rtd).

Today (Monday), we met in the National Security Adviser’s office with northern governors and the Inspector-General of Police and other security agencies.

We discussed seriously on the issue of insecurity and the Chief of Staff invited me to brief him about insecurity in my state, which I did.

We have discussed about it and understand where we are going.” The Governor said.

President Buhari had given marching orders to the security chiefs to stem the tide of killings across the country or quit their positions.

In the meeting with security chiefs, President Buhari had said their best was not good enough.

The heads of security agencies in the country thereafter resolved to meet with the Northern Governors and other stakeholders to find a lasting solution to the menace of Banditry and Herdsmen attacks in the region.
