The Chairman, Northern Youth Leaders Forum (NYLF), Rev Elliot Afiso, has accused former President Goodluck Jonathan of founding a bandit group he identified as “Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore”.

Afiso alleged that the former president has been sponsoring terrorist activities and fueling insecurity through the Fulani terrorist group.

According to the youth leader, Jonathan made available the sum of N300 million which the alleged bandits used to procure arms and ammunition in 2014.

The NYLF Chairman explained that desperation led the ex-president into forming the group after Northern groups, “Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association” and “Northern Elders Forum” failed to back his re-election bid.

The fallout, he said, led to the creation of the “Miyetti Allah Kautal Horre” allegedly currently sabotaging the nation’s security.

Afiso explained that Jonathan received the then newly-created group in the Presidential Villa where he gave them the said sum in an attempt to ensure their backing of his re-election bid.

The youth leader said that the group then used the money to purchase arms with which they combatted the Boko Haram sect which had rustled their cattle.

Afiso went further to assert that the group turned to kidnapping and banditry due to the financial gains.

The NYLF Chairman stressed that he had no faith in current President Muhammadu Buhari ending the nation’s security crisis, describing the incumbent president as “caged”.
