Spokesman for the Northern Elders Forum, Prof Ango Abdullahi has said that the Northern Elders Council, a group recently inaugurated in Kaduna and headed by elder Northern statesmen, businessmen and politicians is money hungry, and betraying the interest of the North for personal gain.
Abdullahi said, “While we in the NEF are clamouring for a Nigerian President of Northern extraction come 2015, the so called Northern Elders Council is against that agitation.
“So Northerners can judge between we that fight for their cause and those who are hungry for money,” he added.
Abdullahi warned against election rigging in 2015 saying that it would result to violence and loss of life.
He called on INEC to revise the timetable and hold the elections in one day in order to save money, and avoid rigging.
