NSCDC trains personnel on private guard management

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in collaboration with the AMS Group of Finland, on Tuesday organised a training programme for its personnel on the management of private guard companies (PGCs).

The training, according to a statement by the NSCDC Public Relations Officer, Mr Emmauel Okeh, was aimed at equipping the participants with knowledge of the training of PGC security operatives.

Speaking at the event held in Abuja, the Commandant-General of the NSCDC, Mr Abdullahi Muhammadu, said the corps was poised to professionalise the country’s PGC sector .

Represented by the Head, PGC Unit of the NSCDC, Mr Nathaniel Ubong, Muhammadu stated that training and retraining was important to enable the personnel to effectively discharge their duties.

According to the CG, the participants are expected to transfer the knowledge gained from the programme to PGC security operatives in the country.

He said the partnership between the NSCDC and AMS Group would continue, adding that the corps had concluded arrangements to send its personnel to Finland to update them professionally.

The Chairman of AMS Nigeria, retired Maj.-Gen. Lawrence Jokotola, lauded the CG for the initiative to make his officers and men professionals.(NAN)
