NY Post Calls For Impeachment of New York Governor, Cuomo
Popular American tabloid, New York Post has demanded the impeachment of Governor Andrew Cuomo over alleged sexual harassment of a former appointee and handling of COVID-19 pandemic in the state.
The New York City-based newspaper made the call in an editorial titled, “Time to impeach the unmasked Gov. Cuomo” and published on Thursday.
Quoting Cuomo’s former deputy secretary for economic development, Lindsey Boylan, the paper described the governor as a “bully” and a “liar” who for long pretended to be a “paragon of virtue, competence, leadership”.
The editorial included shocking details of a lengthy essay written by Boylan in which she accused the governor of going “out of his way” to touch her on her “lower back, arms and legs” and once asked to play strip poker while flying home on “his taxpayer-funded jet”.
She further alleged that the governor on one occasion kissed her on the lips without warning as she made to leave his office.
Boylan first made the claims in December.

The paper quoted Boylan as saying that the governor had “created a culture within his administration where sexual harassment and bullying is so pervasive” that it’s “expected.”
The ex-appointee stated that Governor Cuomo used “intimidation” as a tactic to prevent his victims from exposing him.
“Yes, it’s all allegations; Cuomo has every right to give his side of the story. On the other hand, when Christine Blasey Ford accused then-Judge Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault, the governor insisted everyone believe her — and that Kavanaugh take a lie-detector test.
“All right, governor: Take a lie-detector test,” the paper wrote.
“Team Cuomo’s order sending COVID-contagious patients to nursing homes, fueling needless deaths, is surely enough to question his pose as a competent “leader.” All the more reason to impeach.”
