The former president, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan clocked 59 yesterday and was showered with encomiums by friends and well wishers.
The former president in celebration of the day took to his social media page to share a message congratulating himself for having come this far.
He wrote on his Facebook page: “On the occasion of my birthday today, I thank my God who has enabled me live up to age 59. To Him alone be the glory.
“Let me also appreciate those world leaders and statesmen who have wished me well on this day as well as my beloved Nigerian people who have shown me a great outpouring of love.
“What am I without my people? I thank you all and as you remember my birthday with me, my prayers are that God will also reward you. GEJ.”
Other party members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, including the former minister of Aviation, Femi Fani Kayode celebrated the leader on his birthday.
In light of the celebration, a throwback photo of the former president when he was serving his Father land under the National Youth Service Corps scheme has surfaced online.
