The State Coordinator of NYSC,  Alhaji Mustapha Mohammed, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), in Birnin Kebbi on Monday that the campaign was in line with the Federal Ministry of Health move to protect Nigerians against the virus.

“The management of NYSC is seriously concerned about the welfare of corps members nationwide, especially with advent of the deadly coronavirus.

“This scheme has been in constant touch with Nigeria Centre for Disease Control as well as Federal Ministry of Health in ensuring that corps members are safe,” he said.

Mohammed revealed that all the consultants managing camp clinics had been involved in the sensitisation campaign.

“We registered over 1, 563 corps members in the orientation camp and their disposition revealed enthusiastic youths who are eager to contribute their quota towards the development of our country,” he said.

Mohammed expressed appreciation for the love, care and support extended to corps members serving in the state.

The coordinator, however, appealed to Kebbi government to assist the state NYSC office with operational vehicles and complete the hostel accommodation for male corps members at the orientation camp.
