Dr Mrs Akintola, a university lecturer in the Department of Quantity Surveying at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, has lost her life due to complications that ensued after she gave birth to a set of twins.
The unfortunate event happened on Monday after she fell gravely ill immediately after putting to bed.
The PUNCH confirmed the news of Dr Akintola’s death from the university’s Public Relations Officer, Abiodun Olanrewaju, during a telephone conversation.

He said;
“Unfortunately, the story is true. The details are not palatable. She gave birth to a set of twins. And there were complications thereafter.
“She was treated only to give up the ghost yesterday (Monday) morning.”
