A former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo, has suffered something of a betrayal after his son, OIujonwo, joined Buhari’ campaign team.

Obasanjo has been vocal about his dissatisfaction with Buhari’s government and had even endorsed long-time foe, Atiku Abubakar.

According to Premium Times, Olujonwo was welcomed at the headquarters office of the Buhari Campaign Organisation by Director of Logistics, Buhari Campaign Organisation, Nasiru Danu.

Buhari’s spokesman, Festus Keyamo also spoke about the coup on his Twitter page saying: “Obasanjo Joins Buhari’s Campaign Team: From Left – Alhaji Nasiru Danu (The Dan Amarna of Dutse & Director of Logistics, PMB Campaign Organisation), Olujonwo Obansanjo (son of OBJ) and my humble self as we officially received OBJ’s son at d PMB Campaign Headquarters today in Abuja,”

Lauretta Onochie also confirmed the development.

Premium Times also reported that Obasanjo’s son had in September written about his admiration for the former military head of state and his openness to work for him.

“Dear Sir, please find attached a statement of my public declaration and support for the 2019 second term re-election bid of our highly esteemed President Buhari.

“I have taken a personal decision to release the statement and to notify you of my availability to work for the re-election of our dear President Muhammadu Buhari with sincerity and loyalty.

“Please accept my assurances of the highest regards.” the letter read
