Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State has condemned critics of his administration. He described them as enemies of progress who lack understanding of the current economic situation in Nigeria.

Obiano while speaking through his Senior Special Adviser on Youth Mobilization, Tony Ezekwelu said “Those comparing monetary arithmetic and figures of the yesteryears with that of today are ignorant of the ever depreciating Naira and failing economy of ours.

“We hear about big monies trickling into states, private sector and individual accounts, yet they come with poor financial muscles that could not be sufficient to foot the huge bills facing the account/business owners. Offensive economic plights and constant Naira devaluations are not helping matters at all.”

Furthermore, Secretary to the Benue State Government, SSG, Targema Takema has explained the reason why the present administration is insisting on probing former Governor Gabriel Suswam.

Takema while speaking at the burial ceremony of the mother of the chairman, All Progressives Congress, APC, Gboko Local Government said “What we are doing is not a witch hunt, that is why no amount of blackmail, negotiation or diversionary tactics can derail the focus of the present administration to use the just constituted probe panels to effectively assertain what was misappropriated by that administration.

“It is the resolve of the present administration to ensure that every kobo misappropriated in the state is returned and by so doing, the government of Samuel Ortom will be showing the people the path of probity, transparency and accountability.”

“So, should the government or any player within it be found wanting now or at the end of their service, the relevant agencies of government should not hesitate to met out justice.”
