COVID-19: LASG Issues New Occupational Health Safety Guidelines

 The Lagos State Government has issued additional Occupational Health and Safety Sectoral Guidelines following the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.
The Director-General, Lagos State Safety Commission, Mr Lanre Mojola, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.
Mojola said that the additional Occupational Health and Safety Sectoral Guidelines was provided to ease the lockdown of businesses in Lagos State.
He said that the guidelines cover sectors such as manufacturing, construction, retail outlets and shopping malls, eateries and restaurants, food packaging businesses, financial institutions as well as artisans.
 According to him, the Commission was established to develop and formulate policies and strategies that will build a sustainable safety culture in the state.
He urged Lagos resident to adhere to the safety guidelines.
Also, the Commissioner for Special Duties, Mr Tayo Bamgbose-Martins, emphasised the need for business operators to adhere strictly to safety guidelines.
 Bamgbose-Martins said that apart from frequent washing of hands with soap and an alcohol-based sanitiser, meetings should begin with a safety moment and ensure the mandatory use of face mask.
He urged all and sundry to cooperate with the government in adhering to safety guidelines to combat the pandemic.
