Ogun Govt Debunks Rumour Of Ernest Shonekan’s Death

The Ogun State Government has debunked as a lie from hell the rumoured death of former Head of Interim National Government, Chief Ernest Shonekan.

Social media was on Tuesday evening awash with the rumoured death of Shonekan, with many commentators already sending condolences.

But the Secretary to the State Government, Taiwo Adeoluwa, said, “It is a lie from hell. Baba is alive.”

The 82-year-old Shonekan took over power from General Ibrahim Babangida after he stepped down following the June 12, 1993 debacle.

He is a a British-trained Nigerian lawyer, industrialist, politician and traditional chieftain.
