A Former of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo Iweala has reacted to reports that she mocked the minister of Power, Raji Fashola and minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi.

According to reports, Iweala was said to have called them ‘Scavengers turned saints’

Mrs. Iweala has hit out at these reports claiming that they are untrue and that she never made these statements.

She said in a series of Tweets that those who claimed she made the statements in her book, were ‘mischief makers’ and that she is thankful for the positive reviews of her book, but that she never made the statements that she is being accused of.

She tweeted: “At no point in my book, ‘Fighting Corruption is Dangerous’, did I say ‘yesterday’s scavengers are today’s saints’,” she said.

“While I appreciate all the reviews and discourse the book is generating at home and abroad; mischief-makers who wish to add their comments should get their own copy of the book so that they can make intelligent contributions, rather than putting words in my mouth”.
