Governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha has been accused of forcing his Son-in-law, Hon. Uche Nwosu on Lawmakers and trying to make them endorse him as Okorocha’s successor.

According to the Leadership News Agency, Okorocha was furious that the 20 lawmakers who had purportedly endorsed Nwosu for governor, come 2019 later came out to deny the claim.

The Leadership also reports that the forced endorsement is slated to take place today at ‘Kelvic Suites’ located in New Owerri.

Recall that last week, Hon. Henry Ezediaro, member of Imo State House of Assembly, spoke to newsmen and stated that 20 lawmakers had endorsed Nwosu to be the new governor come 2019.

This move was not at all appreciated by the said Lawmakers who were swift in their response denying any claims to endorsing Nwosu.

“If we wanted to tell the public about the endorsement of Nwosu as the outcome of our meeting, the press would have been invited for briefing than allowing one of us to speak on our behalf” said one of the lawmakers.

It has been speculated that Okorocha wants Nwosu in power not only to increase his political mileage, but also as a means of protection from prosecution after leaving office as he believes that Nwosu would be his man who would also protect him.
