Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma

The All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate in Imo State in the 2019 polls, Sen. Hope Uzodinma, has said that ex-Governor Rochas Okorocha has played himself out of importance in the political equation of the state and Nigeria.

He made this known in a Wednesday statement signed by Declan Emulumba, the Director of Media and Special Duties, Senator Hope Uzodinma Campaign Organisation.

Uzodinma, who is the senator representing Imo West, said that it had become evident to all that Okorocha has never won an election by popular vote but always depended on rigging, violence and manipulation of results.

According to the senator, Okorocha’s penchant for electoral malpractice was blown open in the last election where he was caught red-handed.

Uzodinma added that a decent politician that has been winning elections through popular vote like him should not be joining issues with likes of the ex-governor.

He said, “If there is anybody that is actually shameless in Imo State, that person is Okorocha. For a man who was governor in Imo for eight years and had to rely on violence to be declared winner of a senatorial election, shows that he is finished politically.

“In all these, was APC indicted of any electoral offence?”

“From available records, which are now before the tribunal, I defeated Okorocha and his son-in-law in all the local government areas. Nemesis has caught up with him, that is why he is now in a political pit.”
