Olajumoke: Cinderella Is Real – Google

Mr Taiwo Kola-Ogunlade, the Manager, Communication and Public Relations, Google, on Saturday in Lagos said that Google search leaves footprint of important details.

Kola-Ogunlade said this during a Google Hangout Search session that showed what they learnt from Google search in the first quarter of 2016.

The session had as its theme: “Search on Naija,” which was between January and March.

According to him, searches are zeitgeist into the revolution that is happening in various sectors of an industry, especially that of entertainment.

He defined zeitgeist as the defining spirit or mood of a particular period of history as shown by the ideas and beliefs of the time.

He grouped the findings from the search as; Trending People, Events, Stories, Music, Movies, TV Series and Nollywood Artist.

Kola-Ogunlade said that what was gathered about trending people, showed that Cinderella was real as was seen in the case of the bread seller, Mrs Olajumoke Orisaguna now turned into a model.

“Doing good is contagious, as when one does good to the other, the person involved would also reap from the good deed done.

“Searches also shows that interest from regions could also change due to where the focus was coming from as was seen from the bread seller case which came from Ogun state,” he said.

He said that searches were in the increase, because of the introduction of android cell phones which most people use in watching or downloading their contents.

According to him, male gender is mostly affected because they have the high purchasing power and they fall between the ages of 18 to 34.

Kola-Ogunlade added that the bad thing about downloading contents was that people do not abide by copy right rule, content policy or moral stand on the issues.

He said that a good story never dies and that was why there were constant search for such stories on the internet.

Kola-Ogunlade listed the top trendy people on google as Olajumoke Orisaguna, David Bowie, Adekunle Gold, Arakangundu and Dede One day.

He also listed Headies, AMVCA 2016, Lagos Marathon, Grammy 2016 and the Ooni of Ife’s wedding as top trending events.

According to him, the trendy stories are; Olajumoke the breadseller/bread seller turned model, Don Jazzy Olamide, Dab, Bukky Ajayi’s award, Sophie Momodu and Tonto Dike delivers baby.

Also for songs are: Rihanna – Work, Osinachi Remix – Davido, Adekunle Gold – Pick up, Adele – Hello and Lil Kesh – Ibile.

He listed the trendy movies as: Deadpool, the Revenant, War room, Gods of Egypt and London has fallen, while the series include; Empire Season 2, Quantico, Shades of blue, Legends of Tomorrow and Empire season 3.

The Hollywood Personalities are: Bukky Ajayi, Adesua Etomi, Monalisa Chinda, Tonto Dike and Omotola Jalade, he said.

According to him, events trendy on YouTube are: After School Lesson, Mark Angel Comedy; episode 54, Emmanuel Sleep, Stand Here, Free World and Three Men, episode 57.

The music video had Tiwa Savage ft. Olamide- Standing Ovation, Olamide- I love Lagos, Korede Bello ft. Tiwa Savage-Romantic and Adele- Hello on the list.
