BREAKING: Oluwo of Iwoland Suspended

Oluwo of Iwo land, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi has been suspended for six months by Osun state traditional council.

This is coming after the monarch slapped another traditional ruler Dhikurulahi Akinropo, Agbowu of Ogbaagbaa, at a peace meeting which was convened by the Assistant Inspector-General of Police last week.

Earlier this week, The Herald reported that Oluwo who appeared fearless was caught on tape threatening to destroy Akinropo.

Oba Akanbi accused Agbowu of paying news agencies to slander him in articles, hence he vowed to destroy him.

However, Wahab Adedotun who is the Orangun of Ila has disclosed that Akanbi had been suspended for misconduct to other yoruba traditional rulers.

Ooni of Ife presided over the committee that took the decision of suspending Oba Akanbi after an emergency meeting was called to address the controversy and perceived bad blood between Oluwo and other monarchs

In his disclosure, Orangun said Akanbi’s suspension was not based on his actions towards Akinropo but to other yoruba monarchs.

The Herald recalls that Oluwo’s Jamaican wife Chanel Chin made some shocking revelations about him after she accused the monarch of abandoning her and her infant leaving her stranded in Nigeria. Chanel disclosed thatOba Akanbi sent her and her child out of his palace.
