Ondo 2020: Yayaha Bello has brought in thugs – PDP raises alarm

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello of importing thugs into Ondo State in a bid to rig the election for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

PDP stated this in a terse statement shared on its social media pages on Wednesday.

According to the party, the thugs have been parading themselves as personnel of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).

“Breaking News! Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has imported thugs into Ondo state ahead of the Saturday October 10, Guber election.

“The thugs are masquerading as security officers with fake @PoliceNG uniforms.

“They are residing in Mydas Hotel, Owo. Some of them are with Governor Yahaya Bello in St Jacob’s Hotel, Alagbaka, Akure, Ondo state,” the statement read.

The party also shared a photo supposedly showing the thugs.

Bello; former Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun; former Deputy Governor of Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore and other APC bigwigs stormed the state on Tuesday for APC candidate and incumbent Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s campaign tour in Owo.

Owo, which is the hometown of Akeredolu, is home to many Kogi indigenes resident in Ondo.

Speaking at the rally, the Kogi governor urged the people of Owo and Ondo in general to vote for Akeredolu.

He assured them that his Ondo State counterpart would consolidate on his first term achievements if reelected.
