Ondo Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi Decamps from PDP

The deputy Governor of Ondo state, Agboola Ajayi has decamped from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), barely two months after decamping to the party from the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The decision of the deputy governor is said to be hinged on his failure to secure the ticket to contest for the Governorship election on the platform of the PDP.

Agboola Ajayi was said to have submitted his resignation to the chairman of the PDP in Apoi ward II of Ese-Odo local government area on Sunday night.

The media aide to the d eputy Governor, Mr. Allen Sowore also confirmed the defection of the deputy governor in a statement on Monday,

The deputy governor appreciates the national leadership and members of the party for their warm reception and acceptance in the short period he rejoined the party,” the statement read.

Agboola Ajayi is speculated to join the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), following a series of covert meetings with one of its financiers, former governor Olusegun Mimiko.
