Ongoing Heavy Gun Battle Between Police, Soldiers And Militants

There is currently an ongoing gun battle between men of the Nigerian Police, soldiers and some Niger Delta militants in the Igando area of Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria.

According to reports, as at 1:00pm today, Tuesday 26 July, sporadic gunshots could still be herd from the exchange going on between the Police, soldiers and militants.

The militants were reported to have invaded Ewedogbo community in Igando area of Lagos state earlier today.

The streets have been reported empty owing to the fierce exchange of bullets going on in the area.

According to sources, the police were reported to have arrived in an an Armoured Personnel Carrier, APC to engage the retreating militants and flush them out of the area.

PM News also reported that the militants engaged the police and soldiers in a gun battle around Imose and Totowu waterside.

An unconfirmed source further disclosed that a policeman has been hit by a stray bullet and confirmed dead.
